Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how urpro.me ("urpro.me", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you create a profile, visit a profile page, or otherwise use our service at urpro.me (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an urpro.me account, we collect your email address, password (stored in hashed form), and your chosen profile URL (slug). You may optionally provide a display name, tagline, bio, and profile photo.
Profile content
Information you add to your profile — links, social media URLs, button labels, and uploaded images — is stored so it can be displayed to visitors of your public profile page. This content is visible to anyone who visits your profile URL.
Usage and log data
When you or a visitor accesses the Service, our servers automatically log standard technical information, including IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and timestamps. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Service, and to provide aggregate profile-view statistics to account holders.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies necessary for authentication and maintaining your session. We also use the following analytics tools to understand how the Service is used and to improve it:
- Umami — a privacy-focused analytics tool that collects aggregated, cookie-free usage data (such as page views and referrers) without tracking individual visitors across sites.
- Google Analytics — collects information about how visitors interact with the Service, including pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, and referring sites, using cookies and similar technologies. This data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity — collects behavioral data such as page interactions, scroll depth, and session recordings to help us understand and improve usability. This data is processed by Microsoft in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Because our users and visitors are located worldwide, where required by applicable law (such as the EU/UK), we will request your consent before setting non-essential analytics cookies via a cookie consent banner. You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and maintain your account and public profile
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service
- To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service
- To process payments, if/when paid plans are introduced
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service — for example, our hosting provider, database provider, and file storage provider (used to host uploaded profile images and static assets). These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes.
- Legal compliance — where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of urpro.me, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — if urpro.me is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will notify you before your information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Content you choose to make public on your profile page (your name, photo, links, and social handles) is, by design, visible to anyone who visits that page — this is the core function of the Service, not third-party sharing.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within [X days], except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You can view, edit, or delete your profile information at any time from your dashboard. You may deactivate individual links or your entire profile, or delete your account outright. Depending on your location, you may also have additional rights under applicable law (such as the right to request a copy of your data, or to object to certain processing) — contact us at [email protected] to make such a request.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) and access controls restricting who at urpro.me can view account data — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of [16/18, per applicable law in your jurisdiction]. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email or through a notice on the Service prior to the change taking effect. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at [email protected].
